190725-N-WO291-972 SAN DIEGO (July 25, 2019)Construction Mechanic 2nd Class Micheal Dupray tends Equipment Operator 2nd Class Thomas Dahlke into the stern rigging locker of the single anchor leg mooring system (SALM) to turn the final valve for achieving “decks awash” in the preparation of sinking the SALM. The SALM is part of the offshore petroleum distribution system (OPDS), designed as a semi-permanent delivery system that provides large volume of refined petroleum to service components over a sustained period of time. Underwater Construction Team One (UTC 1) and Underwater Construction Team Two (UTC 2) attended the three week OPDS technical trainer at the Expeditionary Warfare Training Group Pacific in preparation of an upcoming 3rd Fleet Joint Logistics Over The Shore Exercise.
