190718-N-PS962-1005 NORFOLK (July 18, 2019) The Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Kearsarge (LHD 3) returns to homeport at Naval Station Norfolk after a seven-month deployment. Kearsarge was the flagship of the Kearsarge Amphibious Ready Group during the deployment. The Kearsarge ARG was deployed in support of maritime security operations, crisis response and theater security cooperation, while providing a forward naval presence.
