190711-N-RF825-1033 CORAL SEA (July 11, 2019) The Royal Australian Navy amphibious assault ship HMAS Canberra (L 02), the U.S. Navy Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76), the U.S. Navy amphibious assault ship USS Wasp (LHD 1), and the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force helicopter destroyer JS Ise (DDH-182) sail in formation with 14 other ships from the U.S. Navy, U.S. Coast Guard, Royal Australian Navy, Royal Canadian Navy and Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) during Talisman Sabre 2019. Talisman Sabre 2019 illustrates the closeness of the Australian and U.S. alliance and the strength of the military-to-military relationship. This is the eighth iteration of this exercise.
