190711-M-XH454-021 TASMAN SEA (July 11, 2019) Los Angeles-class attack submarine USS Key West (SSN 722) transits through the Tasman Sea in formation alongside the amphibious assault ship USS Wasp (LHD 1), July 11, 2019 as part of Talisman Sabre 2019. Wasp, flagship of the Wasp Expeditionary Strike Group, with embarked 31st MEU, is currently participating in Talisman Sabre 2019 off the coast of Northern Australia. A bilateral, biennial event, Talisman Sabre is designed to improve U.S. and Australian combat training, readiness and interoperability through realistic, relevant training necessary to maintain regional security, peace and stability.
