190709-N-WI365-1159 TASMAN SEA (July 09, 2019) Gunner’s Mate 3rd Class Alexis Vazquez, from Cleveland, Ohio, fires a shot line from the bridge wing of the amphibious dock landing ship USS Ashland (LSD 48) during a replenishment-at-sea with the amphibious transport dock ship USS Green Bay (LPD 20) and the fleet replenishment oiler USNS Rappahannock (T-AO 204). Ashland, part of the Wasp Amphibious Ready Group, with embarked 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, is currently participating in Talisman Sabre 2019 off the coast of Northern Australia. A bilateral, biennial event, Talisman Sabre is designed to improve U.S. and Australian combat training, readiness and interoperability through realistic, relevant training necessary to maintain regional security, peace and stability.
