Thomas Cummings, assigned to the Independence-class littoral combat ship USS Montgomery (LCS 8), communicates with the Philippine navy from the ship's bridge as Montgomery arrives in Davao City, Philippines for a scheduled port visit. Fast, agile and mission-focused, littoral combat ships are designed to operate in near-shore environments. Montgomery is on her first deployment and currently deployed to Southeast Asia.
