190626-N-KG760-0037 SANTA RITA, Guam (June 26, 2019) Service members assigned to U.S. Naval Base Guam (NBG) and NBG security forces participate in an active shooter training as part of Citadel Pacific 2019 at the Naval Magazine gymnasium aboard NBG in Santa Rita, Guam, June 26, 2019. Preparing military and security forces to respond during real-world incidents, the training involved the simulation of active shooters, injured bystanders, and hostages, requiring the activation of NBG security forces and NBG Fire and Emergency Services personnel. Security personnel disarmed the active shooters, rescued hostages, and secured the building for NBG FES fire fighters to arrive, treat, and transport the injured individuals. Citadel Pacific, an anti-terrorism force protection exercise, is designed to enhance the training, readiness, and capability of Navy security forces to effectively respond to threats to installations, commands, and units.
