190619-N-CY182-0427 SAN DIEGO (Jun. 19, 2019) Dan Jennings, from Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Pacific, operates a commercial unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) outfitted with a corrosion/anomaly detection sensor payload and processing scheme aboard the USS Midway Museum in San Diego, California, during a demonstration the Office of Naval Research Global (ONRG) TechSolutions Topside Drone project. ONRG TechSolutions and NIWC Pacific developed the technology that will inspect and detect material defects, corrosion, warping and other conditions affecting naval vessels.
