190612-N-MD802-1266 KALLASTE BEACH, Estonia (June 12, 2019) U.S. Marines with 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit, U.S Navy Sailors assigned to USS Fort McHenry (LSD 43), Romanian Marines with 307 Regiment, and Spanish Marines, assigned to 2º Batallon De Desembarco, Brigada De Infanteria De Marina (2nd Landing Battalion, Marine Infantry Brigade) secure a beach after disembarking from the Lubin-class mine layer/landing ship ORP Gnierzno using Soviet Tracked Amphibious Transport (PTSM) and two Landing Craft Utility (LCU) ships using Lighter Amphibious Resupply Cargo Vehicles (LARC-V) and Medium Tactical Vehicle Replacement (MTVR) during exercise Baltic Operations (BALTOPS) 2019. BALTOPS is the premier annual maritime-focused exercise in the Baltic Region, marking the 47th year of one of the largest exercises in Northern Europe enhancing flexibility and interoperability among allied and partner nations.
