190607-N-UM706-0013 GULF OF ADEN (June 7, 2019) Seaman Briaire Taylor, assigned to the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Nitze (DDG 94), mans the helm in the ship’s bridge during a transit of the Gulf of Aden. Nitze is deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet areas of operations in support of naval operations to ensure maritime stability and security in the Central Region, connecting the Mediterranean and Pacific through the western Indian Ocean and three strategic choke points.
