190604-N-SS350-0039 ARABIAN SEA (June 4, 2019) Boatswain’s Mate 3rd Class Nathaniel Smith, from Bowling Green, Ky., directs an MH-60S Sea Hawk helicopter assigned to the “Nightdippers” of Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 5 aboard the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Bainbridge (DDG 96). Bainbridge is deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet areas of operations in support of naval operations to ensure maritime stability and security in the Central Region, connecting the Mediterranean and Pacific through the western Indian Ocean and three strategic choke points.
