William Patterson, incoming commodore of Submarine Squadron (SUBRON) 16, salutes the side boys during a change of command ceremony for SUBRON 16. Patterson relieved Capt. Christopher Nash as Commodore, Submarine Squadron 16. Squadron 16 is responsible for the maintenance and operation of two Ohio-class guided-missile submarines, USS Florida (SSGN 728) and USS Georgia (SSGN 729), and the ballistic-missile submarine USS Wyoming (SSBN 742).
