190529-N-TG517-002 VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (May 29, 2019) Julius Shoulars, 94, a resident of the Westminster-Canterbury on Chesapeake Bay in Virginia Beach, Va., is interviewed for an oral history by staff members from the Hampton Roads Naval Museum. Shoulars entered service with the U.S. Navy as a coxswain shortly after the Dec. 7, 1941 Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. He took part in the allied invasion of Normandy, France in June 1944 and later served in the Pacific theater. He returned to Norfolk after the war. (U.S. Navy photo by Max Lonzanida/Released)
