190524-N-PQ607-0091 BRIDGETOWN, Barbados (May 24, 2019) Navy Diver 2nd Class Bruce Dagata, assigned to Mobile Diving and Salvage Unit, Company 22 (MDSU-22), jumps into the water as part of a Southern Partnership Station 2019 surface augmented underwater breathing exercise with members of the Barbados coast guard. Southern Partnership Station (SPS) is an annual series of U.S. Navy deployments focused on exchanges with regional partner nation militaries and security forces. SPS 2019 will consist of fly-away deployments of adaptive force packages (AFPs) to Barbados, Colombia, Guatemala, Honduras and Peru that will conduct training and subject matter expert exchanges to improve capacity in medical, dive operations, engineering, and explosive ordnance disposal.
