190509-N-CL765-1001 U.S. 5TH FLEET AREA OF OPERATIONS (May 9, 2019) Chief Aviation Machinist’s Mate Alex Simatos, left, and Aviation Machinist’s Mate 3rd Class Jennaviere Gravois, attached to Patrol Squadron (VP) 40, use a torque wrench to set the breakaway torque on a propeller sling during a pump housing change on a P-3C Orion Aircraft. VP-40 is deployed to the U.S. 5th and 7th Fleet areas of operations in support of naval operations to ensure maritime stability and security. VP-40 is the last active-duty squadron to fly the P-3C Orion aircraft and after this deployment will transition to the P-8 Poseidon.
