190503-N-UJ449-021 SIGONELLA, Sicily (May 3, 2019) Marines assigned to Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force-Crisis Response-Africa 19.2, Marine Forces Europe and Africa, prepare to depart Naval Air Station Sigonella to participate in a tactical recovery of aircraft and personnel exercise, May 3, 2019. The task force is deployed to conduct crisis-response and theater-security operations in Africa and promote regional stability by conducting military-to-military training exercises throughout Europe and Africa. NAS Sigonella’s strategic location enables U.S, allied, and partner nation forces to deploy and respond as required to ensure security and stability in Europe, Africa and Southwest Asia.
