190403-M-QT322-0007 ALCOCHETE, PORTGUAL (April 3, 2019) – U.S. Marines with the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit and Portuguese Fuzeleiros take cover while a charge explodes at a dynamic breaching range during Instruction Exercise at the Alcochete Firing Range in Alcochete, Portugal, April 3, 2019. Marines with 1st Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment and Portuguese troops took part in the training to sharpen and build their skills. Elements from the 22nd MEU are participating in INSTREX in order to sustain combat readiness, execute amphibious operations, demonstrate interoperability and continue a strong partner relationship with our NATO ally.
