190322-N-MU198-0612
190322-N-MU198-0612 ATLANTIC OCEAN (March 22, 2019) Sailors assigned to Explosive Ordnance Disposal Mobile Unit (EODMU) 2 retrieve a Mark 18 Mod I unmanned underwater vehicle while underway with the Royal Fleet Auxiliary landing ship dock RFA Mounts Bay (L3008) during a mine countermeasures task group experiment. This experiment, held aboard Mounts Bay, refines and advances the Navy explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) community's ability to command and control an mine countermeasures task group. The Navy EOD community achieves this by embarking vessels of opportunity to direct surface, air and expeditionary mine countermeasures forces, including the Navy's expeditionary mine countermeasures units.
