190321-N-RU084-1004 OXNARD, Calif. (March 21, 2019) Seabees from Underwater Construction Team (UCT) 2 cut brackets from an expeditionary quay wall patch (Curley patch) using a Broco Tactical Cutting Torch during a proof of concept test at Naval Base Ventura County in support of Pacific Blitz 2019 (PacBlitz19). The Curley patch technique provides expedient repair to piers and wharfs enabling military forces to continue to utilize the port to provide logistical support to the operating forces. PacBlitz19 provides realistic, relevant training necessary for effective global crisis response and provides reassurance to U.S. regional partners and allies of enduring commitment to regional stability.
