190320-N-RU084-1003 OXNARD, Calif. (March 20, 2019) Navy Builder 2nd Class Brock Farmer, left, from Arlington, Texas, and Construction Mechanic 2nd Class Graham Milstead, from Eagle, Idaho, both assigned to Underwater Construction Team (UCT) 2, jackhammer an anchor into the ground to provide support to an expeditionary quay wall patch (Curley patch) during a proof of concept test at Naval Base Ventura County in support of Pacific Blitz 2019 (PacBlitz19). The Curley patch technique provides expedient repair to piers and wharfs enabling military forces to continue to utilize the port to provide logistical support to the operating forces. PacBlitz19 provides realistic, relevant training necessary for effective global crisis response and provides reassurance to U.S. regional partners and allies of enduring commitment to regional stability.
