190312-N-MW964-1096 VANDENBERG AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. (Mar. 12, 2019) U.S. Navy Seabees assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 5 navigate the edge of the CAT 76” wheel saw attachment to cut into the concrete. The Seabees are part of an expeditionary rapid airfield damage repair (ExR-ADR) exercise on Vandenberg Air Force Base in support of Exercise Pacific Blitz 2019 (PacBlitz19). ExR-ADR tests Seabee units’ ability to repair runways enabling continued support to Navy and Marine Corps operations. Navy Expeditionary Forces support the Marine Expeditionary Forces and the Fleet by establishing theater logistics through the development of advanced naval bases. PacBlitz19 provides realistic, relevant training and practice that is necessary for an effective global U.S. Navy and Marine Corps.
