John Wade, commander of Carrier Strike Group Twelve (center right), speak with the staff at Naval Surface and Mine Warfighting Development Center (SMWDC) Headquarters onboard Naval Base San Diego. Rear Adm. Kilby and Rear Adm. Wade were the first and second Commander of SMWDC respectively, and met with leaders at the command for a status update on SMWDC’s growth and impact on Surface Force lethality and tactical proficiency.
