(March 9, 2019) Utilitiesman Constructionman John Manhart, assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 5, uses pliers to cut barbed wire on Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California as part of Exercise Pacific Blitz (PacBlitz19). NMCB-5 provides support to 1st Marine Logistics Group in the establishment and maintenance of advanced naval bases. PacBlitz19 provides relevant training that replicates a realistic maritime threat environment designed to improve naval amphibious core competencies necessary for effective, global crisis response expected of the Navy and Marine Corps.
