190306-N-FN665-001 SANTA RITA, Guam (March 6, 2019) Construction Electrician 3rd Class Virginia Hale, assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 133, performs restoration work on the Seabee Fighting Bee monument at the Camp Covington maintenance workshop at Naval Base Guam. The Fighting Bee was created in 1942 by the late Chief Carpenter’s Mate Frank J. Iafrate. It represents the tenacity and grit of the industrious worker ready to defend the product of its labors—it became our symbolic identity and has since served as the Seabee insignia. NMCB-133 is forward deployed throughout the Indo-Pacific region and United States ready to support major combat operations, theater security, humanitarian assistance and disaster relief operations. Seabees provide general engineering and civil support to Navy, Marine Corps and joint operation forces globally. (U.S. Navy photo by Construction Electrician 3rd Class Ruby Jebbour/Released)
