190302-N-ND850-005 GEORGETOWN, Texas (March 2, 2019) Navy Counselor 1st Class Louis Gonzalez of Puerto Rico, assigned to Navy Recruiting Station Round Rock, provides instruction on the America’s Navy Oculus Go Virtual 360 googles during the Georgetown SeaPerch Regional Competition held at the Georgetown Recreation Center. More than 44 high school, middle school, and elementary teams from Georgetown and Bryan ISD’s to include a Boys Scout Troop No. 405 competed to advance to the 2019 SeaPerch Challenge to be held on the campus of the University of Maryland, June 1 – 2. Gonzalez joined America’s Navy in 1997 becoming a recruiter in 2011. Navy Recruiting District (NRD) San Antonio’s area of responsibility includes more than 30 Navy Recruiting Stations and Navy Officer Recruiting Stations spread throughout 144,000 square miles of Central and South Texas territory.
