190221-N-SB520-009 LEMOORE, Calif. (Feb. 21, 2019) Sailors assigned to Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 147, await a 5th Generation F-35C Lightning II piloted by Cmdr. Daniel Kitts, who performed a flyover maneuver to signify the change of command. VFA-147 is the first Navy F-35C carrier variant (CV) operational squadron that has advanced weapon systems, fusion sensor integration, and stealth capabilities, making it a long-range multirole mission ready aircraft.
