190131-N-IG466-0009 NORFOLK (Jan. 31, 2019) Lt. Cmdr. Jeremiah Nelson, maintenance manager aboard the aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman's (CVN 75), holds a drain strainer orphious, the first 3D printed metal part for installation on an aircraft carrier. Produced by Huntington Ingalls Industries, the drain strainer orphious will be installed on the ship's reboiler system and evaluated after one year. Harry S. Truman is currently moored at Naval Station Norfolk conducting targeted maintenance and trainings, and remains operationally ready.
