190123-M-MR595-1103 CHENNAI, India (Jan. 23, 2019) U.S. Navy Petty Officer 3rd Class Kielthone Lim, a logistics specialist, assigned to the Essex Amphibious Ready Group (ARG) mans the rails aboard the Whidbey Island-class dock landing ship USS Rushmore (LSD 47), January 23, 2019. While in port, the Rushmore will refuel and host Indian Navy personnel, while it’s embarked Sailors and Marines will have opportunities to tour the local area. The Essex ARG and 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit is currently deployed to the 7th fleet area of operations to support regional stability, reassure partners and allies and maintain a presence postured to respond to any crisis ranging from humanitarian assistance to contingency operations.
