190114-N-WO291-803 SASEBO, Japan (Jan. 11, 2019) Sailors assigned to Underwater Construction Team (UCT) 2, Construction Diving Detachment Alfa (CDDA), place and prepare a 38-ton lift bag, Jan. 11, 2019 in the Juliet Basin of Commander, Fleet Activities Sasebo. CDDA is tasked with raising and repairing the small craft finger pier, which was partially sunken due to damage sustained during recent typhoons. CDDA is on the first stop of their six-month deployment, where they are conducting inspections, maintenance, and repairs of various underwater and waterfront facilities in support of the U.S. Pacific Fleet.
