200622-N-QV265-1006 SAGAMI BAY (June 22, 2020) Machinist�s Mate 1st Class Jaeger Shafferstall, from Elyria, Ohio, relays boiler gauge readings to the Engineer of the Watch aboard U.S. 7th Fleet flagship USS Blue Ridge (LCC 19). Machinist mate�s aboard Blue Ridge maintain and operate the ship�s boilers, water distilleries, and steam generators that provide potable water, electricity and propulsion. Blue Ridge is the oldest operational ship in the Navy and, as 7th Fleet command ship, actively works to foster relationships with allies and partners in the Indo-Pacific region.
