200608-N-NH257-0248 PACIFIC OCEAN (June 8, 2020) A Sailor directs an E-2C Hawkeye from the Sun Kings of Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadron (VAW) 116 on the flight deck aboard the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz (CVN 68). The E-2C Hawkeye was the first aircraft to launch on Nimitz's 2020 deployment. Nimitz, the flagship of Carrier Strike Group 11, is deployed conducting maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts.
