200512-N-OW019-0024 PACIFIC OCEAN (May 12, 2020) A Mark 45 five-inch gun is fired aboard the Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser USS Princeton (CG 59) during a live-fire exercise. Princeton is underway conducting a composite training unit exercise (COMPTUEX). COMPTUEX is an intensive exercise designed to fully integrate units of the carrier strike group, while testing a strike group’s ability as a whole to carry out sustained combat operations from the sea.
