200512-N-FP334-1088 PACIFIC OCEAN (May 12, 2020) Gunner's Mate 3rd Class Cooper Badner, from Spokane, Wash., fires a crew-served .50-caliber machine gun aboard the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Ralph Johnson (DDG 114) during a composite unit training exercise (COMPTUEX) live-fire event. Ralph Johnson is part of the Nimitz Carrier Strike Group (CSG) and COMPTUEX is an intensive exercise designed to fully integrate units of the CSG, while testing its ability as a whole to carry out sustained combat operations from the sea.
