200509-N-FQ453-1021 PACIFIC OCEAN (May 9, 2020) An F/A-18F Super Hornet, assigned to the �Redcocks� of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 22, prepares for an arrested landing on the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz (CVN 68). Nimitz, along with Carrier Air Wing 17 and Destroyer Squadron 9, is underway conducting a Composite Training Unit Exercise (COMPTUEX). COMPTUEX is an intensive exercise designed to fully integrate units of the carrier strike group, while testing a strike group's ability as a whole to carry out sustained combat operations from the sea.
