200405-N-OC497-0001 KOREA STRAIT (April 5, 2020) The avenger-class mine countermeasure ships USS Pioneer (MCM 9), USS Chief (MCM 14) and an MH-53 Sea Dragon helicopter from Helicopter Mine Countermeasures Squadron (HM) 14 conduct mine hunting training exercises. Pioneer, Chief and HM-14, part of Mine Countermeasures Squadron 7, are operating in the 7th Fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with partners and serve as a ready-response platform for contingency operations.
