200326-N-KK394-1181 CARIBBEAN SEA (March 26, 2020) Engineman 2nd Class Lane Fields displaces air from the fuel separator system in the main machinery room aboard the Freedom-variant littoral combat ship USS Detroit (LCS 7). During the deployment to the U.S. Southern Command's area of responsibility, Detroit, with embarked helicopter and U.S. Coast Guard law enforcement detachment, will support Joint Interagency Task Force South's mission, which includes counter-drug patrols and detection and monitoring of illicit traffic in the Caribbean Sea and eastern Pacific Ocean.
