SAN DIEGO (March 25, 2020) � Hospital Corpsman 1st Class Jonathan Ivey, left, screens Ensign Mackenzie Jones for signs of COVID-19 before allowing him to board the amphibious assault ship USS Makin Island (LHD 8). Makin Island has a 24-hour medical screening station at the brow of the ship that all hands must pass through this station when coming aboard the ship. Anyone identified as meeting the criteria on the checklist will be fitted with a surgical mask, nitrite gloves and escorted to medical for further evaluation.
