200319-M-IP473-1107 SOUTH CHINA SEA (March 15, 2020) A Marine with Scout Sniper Platoon, Weapons Company, Battalion Landing Team, 1st Battalion, 5th Marines, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), fires out the door of an MH-60S Sea Hawk helicopter assigned to the Island Knights of Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 25 with an M110 semi-automatic sniper system during an aerial sniper live-fire exercise. America, flagship of the America Expeditionary Strike Group, 31st MEU team, is operating in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with allies and partners and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
