200303-N-YQ181-1180 PHILIPPINE SEA (March 3, 2020) The Arleigh-Burke class guided-missile destroyer USS Mustin (DDG 89) fires a mark 45 5-inch gun during the U.S.-Japan Bilateral Advanced Warfighting Training (BAWT) exercise. BAWT improves interoperability between the U.S. and Japanese forces. This exercise enhances the ability of the U.S. Navy and Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force to work together to confront any contingency.
