200220-M-IB436-1568 SASEBO, JAPAN (Feb. 20, 2020) Hospital Corpsman 3rd Class Carter Brady with Weapons Company, Battalion Landing Team, 1st Battalion, 5th Marines, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), explains the contents of his medical bag to Capt. Yu Kodama, a doctor with Logistics Support Battalion, Amphibious Rapid Deployment Brigade (ARDB), Japan Self-Defense Force, aboard the Whidbey Island-class dock landing ship USS Germantown (LSD 42). During the exercise, Marines and Sailors with Combat Logistics Battalion 31, 31st MEU, shared information and common practices with the ARDB Logistics Support Battalion. Germantown, part of the America Expeditionary Strike Group, 31st MEU team, is operating in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with allies and partners and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
