200131-N-TB148-0502 ARABIAN GULF (Jan. 31, 2020) A Mark VI patrol boat attached to Commander, Task Force (CTF) 56, pulls alongside the coastal patrol ship USS Whirlwind (PC 11) during an interoperability exercise in the Arabian Gulf. This event highlights one of the many core competencies that the Coastal Riverine Force provides in support of U.S. 5ht Fleet operations. CTF 56 is responsible for the planning and execution of expeditionary missions including coastal riverine operations in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations.
