200129-N-BT681-1059 PHILIPPINE SEA (Jan. 29, 2020) The amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6) conducts an exercise with the amphibious command ship USS Blue Ridge (LCC 19), the flagship of U.S. 7th Fleet, the amphibious transport dock ship USS Green Bay (LPD 20) and the amphibious dock landing ship USS Germantown (LSD 42). America, flagship of the America Expeditionary Strike Group, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit team, is operating in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with allies and partners and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
