200116-N-XS424-1704 ATLANTIC OCEAN (Jan. 16, 2020) An E-2D Advanced Hawkeye assigned to Air Test and Evaluation Squadron (VX) 20 lands aboard the aircraft carrier USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN 78). The arrestment marked the first time an E-2D had landed aboard Gerald R. Ford. Gerald R. Ford is currently conducting aircraft compatibility testing to further test its electromagnetic aircraft launch systems and advanced arresting gear.
