Bruce Gillingham, Navy Surgeon General, recognizes Sailors during his visit to Naval Medical Readiness Training Command Pearl Harbor, Jan. 9, 2020. Petty Officer Third Class Samuel Lawless, a dental technician at Camp Smith was recognized for his embodiment of a well-rounded Sailor. As a dental technician he assisted in delivering quality dental care to 708 Marines and Sailors. He is instrumental for the maintenance and patient verification of their dental records. His contribution to the team enabled others to improve their dental skills and immediately enabled them to assist the dental providers during required dental exams and chair-side operations, qualify others in Sterilization Processing Department, and learn front desk day-to-day operations without interrupting patient care.
