200611-N-NO627-1045 NORFOLK (June 11, 2020) Secretary of the Navy Kenneth J. Braithwaite renders honors as he passes through sideboys upon arrival aboard the aircraft carrier USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN 78), June 11, 2020. Ford is undergoing an 18 month phase of operations known as Post-Delivery Test and Trials, and serving as the only carrier qualification asset regularly available on the East Coast this year. The Secretary of the Navy, Chief of Naval Operations and Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy are visiting the Fleet together with a focus on maintenance and readiness related efforts.
