Naval Air Station Pensacola, FL (May 9, 2002) -- A twin-jet T-39 Sabreliner multi-purpose utility transport and pilot proficiency trainer parked on the tarmac at NAS Pensacola. Two T-39's from Training Squadron Eight Six (VT-86), assigned to Training Air Wing Six, were reported missing while on a routine training mission over the Gulf of Mexico on May 8, 2002. Search and Rescue operations continue.
