160707-N-XK809-026 SASEBO, Japan (July 7, 2016) - Air department Sailors participate in firefighting drills aboard the U.S. Navy’s only forward-deployed amphibious assault ship USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6) in preparation for crew certification. The ship is currently completing a ship’s restricted availability (SRA) and preparing for an upcoming patrol. Bonhomme Richard is the lead ship of the Bonhomme Richard Amphibious Ready Group and is forward-deployed in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operation.
