Sailor Participate in Fire Fighting Drills
210811-N-SG189-1105 NORFOLK, Va. (Aug 11, 2021) Two hose teams participate in hands-on firefighting training by extinguishing a simulated Class “B” fire at Farrier Firefighting School. The school hosts week-long firefighting and damage control training courses for service members and foreign personnel, seeing as many as 300 to 500 students per week. It is dedicated to and named after Chief Aviation Boatswain's Mate (Handling) Gerald W. Farrier, who was one of the first Sailors to die aboard USS Forrestal (CV-59).
