Charles Thaxter, construction manager for Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Far East Public Works Department and Anthony Ceselsky, chief quarterman for NAVFAC Far East, break ground during an Arbor Day 2020 celebration onboard Commander, Fleet Activities Yokosuka (CFAY) April 24. During the celebration, members from NAVFAC Far East planted three Japanese maple trees and one cherry blossom tree onboard CFAY and CFAY�s Ikego Housing area. For 75 years, CFAY has provided, maintained, and operated base facilities and services in support of the U.S. 7th Fleet's forward-deployed naval forces, tenant commands, and thousands of military and civilian personnel and their families.
