(Dec. 15, 2020) A U.S. Sailor with Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton, Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command Camp Pendleton, cuts tape from the first doses of the COVID-19 vaccine that arrived at NHCP from Naval Medical Center San Diego, Dec. 15, 2020. Naval Medical Center San Diego and Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton were selected by the Department of Defense COVID Task Force based on recommendations from the military services and U.S. Coast Guard, to best support several criteria to include anticipated supply chain requirements, such as cold and bulk storage facilities and sufficient medical personnel to administer vaccines and actively monitor vaccine recipients.
